Patterson "Geyer-Knopf" Custom

Our newest model, the Patterson "Geyer-Knopf" Custom horn is turning out to be a great instrument. Many players have remarked that "it has the Patterson sound!" Truth be told, we were actually looking to create more of a C.F. Schmidt type horn, but wrapped up like a Geyer. What's great about this horn is that it has a very broad sound, plenty of lower overtones, with a lot of high overtones as well. Like the original Schmidt, this horn has the ideal sound for orchestral playing and is maybe the best overall horn sound out there. It seems to be able to sound like a Kruspe or a Geyer depending on the musical requirements. This may be one of the very best custom horns available, and at a bargain price of only $8000!

New movement of Hornworks piece

We've just uploaded a new movement of our website music. "Variation 4" can now be heard on our Horns for Sale page, along with the "Hornworks Theme" on our Home Page. This suite, composed by 10-time Emmy award winner Bruce Broughton, consists of a Theme and a total of 9 Variations. The recordings are currently being mixed and mastered, and new movements will be uploaded as they are completed. Please check back soon to hear more of this amazing piece. Hope you enjoy!
Patterson Custom Descant model 2

Can you believe that we actually redesigned our already highly regarded Custom Descant? Many people called our first descant model the best descant available, yet we thought we could make it even better. Turned out we were right, and the second generation of this horn is significantly better! We went with a different valve maker, changed the bore through the change valve, and redesigned all the tapered sections to fit these new valves. The end results yielded a more free blowing horn with an incredible sound. This may be the best horn we make!
DeRosa mouthpieces

Most of the DeRosa model mouthpieces in circulation were designed for student use and are not the same as Vince's actual mouthpiece. Our DeRosa models are an exact copy of Vince's personal mouthpiece which he lent to us to copy. Vince truly designed and made his own mouthpieces from pre-1970s vintage Giardinelli C1's, to which he scraped the throat with scissors until it played the way he wanted. We make our DeRosa mouthpieces on CNC machinery so that every one is a perfect copy of the original and we're also able to modify the tapers so we can offer the same mouthpiece in a #1, #4 and #6 bore.
New LP & 1st branch tapers

To go along with our new "Geyer-Knopf" Custom horn, we've developed new leadpipe and first branch tapers specifically for Geyer wrap instruments. Each of these offer a significant improvement over the factory tapers, and create a more even and freeblowing horn with a brilliant sound. These tapers are tailored specifically for Geyer wrap instruments, but we also make tapers for all other horns. Please contact us for more information.
