We're sorry there hasn't been a newsletter since June. Phil has been doing a good job of writing and publishing the newsletter each month. Since July, he has been in band (drum) camp and very busy getting ready for school. He is now enrolled at New Mexico State, majoring in music business. While attending NMSU, he will still be working at Patterson Hornworks part time and we should be able to keep up with the newsletter. |

We have been working on upgrading mellophones since our daughter joined the high school marching band and brought one home. It played so badly that I couldn't stand it, and decided to improve it. I made a new leadpipe for it and the band directors loved it and ordered the work done on all of their mellophones. Now there are a couple of Texas Schools interested as well. We'll try to keep blogging the results on Facebook, so stay tuned to see where this goes. |
We have listed 2 more horns for sale since our last newsletter. • E. Schmid ES1 Double Horn: Hand hammered, detachable bell with NS garland. Played professionally in the NY Philharmonic. Our price: $8500 • Hans Hoyer Double Horn: Geyer/Knopf wrap. Detachable bell. Plays very well. Nickel plated valves. Our price: $1800 Contact us for more info. |
We have finished testing our new leadpipe model, which is a small improvement over our legendary original model. The extreme high register is more open and the sound is more round. We just sent one to Julie Landsman (New York Metropolitan Opera) and she liked it well enough to put it on her horn! We are offering a $75 discount if you order in September. Total price is $600 + shipping. |
| Patterson Hornworks now has a Facebook page! For those of you who don't have a Facebook page, it is a great way to keep in touch with friends from all over the world, and its free! We hope that our new page will get more information across to our fans, and make it easier and more convenient to contact us. Check it out at http://www.facebook.com/PattersonHornworks |
